App Interface Designs

Design Process & Context Systems - 2021

Makeup Hub is an app concept I developed in my Design Process and Context Systems course in Fall 2021. The goal was to create a centralized platform that simplifies the way people shop for makeup by combining the key factors that influence purchasing decisions. The app allows users to find products that match their skin tone and type, filter by top-rated reviews, and compare prices across brands and retailers, all in one place.

Marketing Management - 2022

As part of my Marketing Management course, my team and I developed a new product concept called SnapDate, a dating app designed to merge the familiar features of traditional dating platforms with the interactive nature of Snapchat. The project required us to launch a new product or service under the umbrella of an existing parent company. I led the design of the app’s interface in Figma to support our final presentation.

SnapDate features Snapchat-inspired chat functionality and introduces user verification through weekly story updates, helping ensure that profiles remain current and authentic. To boost engagement, the app also includes interactive two-player games that serve as conversation starters and encourage repeat use. Users must update their profile with a new story each week to keep their profile active in the swipe queue, while pinned photos remain visible as a consistent part of their profile identity.

Project Takeaways

These projects mark the very beginning of my design journey and college career. They introduced me to the fundamentals of user experience and taught me just how much intentionality and detail go into every element of an app—from its interface and structure to its purpose and usability. While I’ve grown significantly as a designer since creating these early concepts, I continue to reflect on them as valuable starting points that shaped the way I approach design today.
